A dança é uma forma especial de arte cênica que utiliza movimentos corporais e uma forma estética para expressar e comunicar. As demandas físicas, intelectuais e psicológicas da dança se comparam àquelas das modalidades esportivas mais extenuantes (1). Segundo Koutedakis (2), bailarinas precisam ser esguias, flexíveis e expressivas, sua flexibilidade muscular e mobilidade articular podem ser inatas ou adquiridas com treino intenso, mas precisam ser acima da média de um indivíduo normal para execução de seus movimentos. Bailarinas com hipermobilidade sofrem bem mais lesões, o que se torna desvantagem, não um privilégio (1). E como sabemos, todos os esportes têm um treino de flexibilidade associado ao treinamento de força ou velocidade, para reduzir o número de lesões. Partindo deste confronto foi realizada uma revisão de literatura para encontrar a relação da hipermobilidade com o aumento do risco de lesões. Há uma forte tendência de que uma flexibilidade excessiva muscular e articular aumenta o risco de lesões, sendo as mais citadas a distensão muscular e ligamentar.Downloads
