Abstract

This paper presents a study on strategy and social responsibility in organizational environment. The aim is to show the importanceof strategic orientation in practices of social responsibility in cooperatives. It is characterized as a descriptive study withliterature review on the main concepts of strategy and social responsibility in business environment. It adopts the case studyto understand how the organizational strategies can guide practices of social responsibility in cooperatives, especially in theTecendo Inclusão [Weaving Inclusion] textile cooperative in Americana, São Paulo, Brazil. The results of the Tecendo InclusãoProject show that it has strong economic impact on the textile activity in its region with focus on social inclusion from theemployment generation and income for the region of Americana.
