Abstract

Brazil has broken records in grain production and is expected to produce 208.8 million tons in the 2014/15 crop. However, storage capacity is inadequate. Faced with this question, the objective of this article is to analyse the current static storage capacity of grain in the state of Goiás, by mesoregions, in 2013. Literary benchmark that discusses studies on storage of grain production was composed. The theoretical framework includes concepts about the central theme and also the economic effect of storage. According to the literature, the ideal is that the storage capacity be above 20% of annual production. The results showed that the state of Goiás currently has a deficit of static storage capacity of approximately 38% regarding its grain production.
