TRATAMENTO CIRÚRGICO DE TUMOR ODONTOGÊNICO QUERATOCÍSTICO : RELATO DE CASO

Introdução: O Queratocisto Odontogênico foi renomeado Tumor Odontogênico Queratocístico, enfatizando sua natureza neoplásica pela OMS (2005). É uma neoplasia benigna de desenvolvimento epitelial dos maxilares derivado do órgão do esmalte ou da lâmina dental, que corresponde a aproximadamente 11% de todos os cistos maxilares, sendo mais freqüente no gênero masculino. Tem maior incidência na 2a e 3a décadas de vida e acomete a maxila e mandíbula, podendo atingir grande volume e ser muito expansivo para os tecidos adjacentes e ter rápido crescimento. O tratamento pode ser por descompressão, marsupialização, enucleação, curetagem, associada a procedimentos auxiliares já que esta lesão possui altas taxas de recidiva.
Casuística: Este trabalho apresenta um relato de caso clínico em paciente gênero masculino, 40 anos, leucoderma, que procurou o ambulatório de cirurgia devido a aumento de volume em região maxilar esquerda, assintomático e de crescimento rápido. Foi submetido a um tratamento conservador de enucleação com curetagem sob anestesia geral em centro cirúrgico, permitindo a manutenção da estética facial.Downloads
